Alfred N. Pfannenstiel, 71, died Tuesday, Aug. 30 at St. Anthony Hospital, Hays. Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 2 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Owen Shellhase officiating; burial in the church cemetery.

He was born June 28, 1917 in Antonino, to Nick and Anna (Wasinger) Pfannenstiel.

He married Marcella Dinges on June 14, 1937 in Munjor. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Schoenchen.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Ron, Denver; two daughters, Arlene Coughlin, Denver, and Nelva Rohr, Lakewood, Colo.; two half-brothers, Edwin Pfannenstiel and Celestine Pfannenstiel, both of Hays; a stepbrother, Aloys Pfannenstiel, Hays; two sisters, Bertha Binder and Mary Rohr, both of Hays; a half-sister, Sister Laurain Pfannenstiel, Chicago; a step-sister, Susie Rohr, Aurora, Colo.; nine grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
