Mrs John A. Key passed away at her home in Bogard,following an illness of several months. Ailcey Adaline Nance, daughter of George A. and Ailcey Isom Nance, was born in Carrollton, Mo. 8/13/1863. Passed away 8/30/1944, age of 81 y, 17 d On 3/22/1888, she was united in marriage to John A. Key. To this union 5 children were born. Mrs Ray Hall, Jesse B. Key, Mrs Raymond Cahill and Mrs Roy Bingham, who with their faher survive. A son died in infancy. Mr and Mrs Key resided on a farm near Coloma until 15 yrs ago when they moved to their present home in Bogard. Besides her immediate family she is survived by 15 gdchildren, 3 g-gdchildren, one brother, James H. Nance of Anderson, one sister, Mrs. A.R. Cox of Braymer and a host of relatives and friends. One gdson, Merle W. Key is serving his country in the navy and is stationed in New Guinea.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, John H., George M. and Andrew B. Nance, 2 sisters Caroline Martin and Arvilla Jane Nance. Four half brothers Jonathan, Wesley M., William Robert, and Richard Applebury. One half sister, Martha Adaline Applebury.
She obeyed the gospel under the preaching of Rev. J.D. Jesse in 12/1894. She was a charter member of the Church of Christ at Coloma, where she remained a faithful member until death. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a kind neighbor. She enjoyed visiting with her neighbors and friends until the last. Funeral services were held Fri afternoon at the Coloma Church of Christ, conducted by Elder Arthur Freeman of Chillicothe.
