Leota Gullion Expires Sunday
Mrs. Leota Estelle Gullion, 83, 1111 North Cherry, died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday at the Jackson Nursing Home where she had been staying since January 2. Mrs. Gullion had been seriously ill since December 1.
She was born January 6, 1871, near Defiance, O., the daughter of Nathaniel and Emily Tharpe Blair, and had lived for many years in New Castle. During the last year she had made her home in Rushville with a daughter, Mrs. Madeline Knight.
She was the widow of Charles W. Gullion who died in 1941.
Mrs. Gullion was a member of the First Presbyterian Church here and the Golden Agers Club of New Castle.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edmond Sheehan of Chicago and Mrs. Knight; on son, Blair Gullion of St. Louis; one sister, Mrs. W. S. Staley of New Castle; one brother, Clarence Blair of Blue Ridge, Ga., and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Wyatt-Moore Memorial at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Ernest Norquist in charge. Interment will follow in East Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the memorial at any time.
