Kenneth Merlyn Young of Rogersville, formerly from Lothian, MD and Clearfield, PA, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 13, 2007.
He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. Kenny retired from NASA in Greenbelt, Maryland as an engineer for the Space Program. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Clair and Esther Shubert Young and father-in-law, Wesley C. Morgan, Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Morgan Young of the home; daughter, Darlene Cherry and friend, Tom of MD; son, Timothy Young and wife, Jackie of NC; two grandchildren, Tricia Jones and husband, Jason and Christopher Cherry of MD; two great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Nellie Morgan of Rogersville; two brothers-in-law, Gary Morgan and wife, Priscilla Rogers of Mooresburg and Wesley Morgan, Jr. and wife, Shelba of Lothian, MD; two special nephews, Wesley C. Morgan, III, and EriK Eugene Morgan, both of Lothian, MD; special niece Patricia Phillips of Bristol, TN; several nieces and nephews, as well as two special dogs, Sir Gabby and Little Lady.
A private family graveside service will be held in Highland Cemetery.
