The funeral service of Joel Morgan, 73, of Albany, GA, who died Friday March 25, 2011 at Willson Hospice House, will be conducted Monday March 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Walter W. Ross will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Tifton, GA, Mr. Morgan has resided in Albany, GA since 1950 moving from Hawkinsville, GA. He was owner of Albany Glass Services, and was retired from Morgan Auto Sales, he and his wife were managers of the restaurant at Radium Springs Country Club where he was a member. He and his wife had Morgan's Catering and managed Merry Acres Restaurant. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Pate Morgan and Cleo Little Morgan, a daughter, Brenda Delaine Morgan, an infant grandson, Benjaye Morgan, brother, Claude Morgan and a sister, Linda Sheffield.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Barfield Morgan, Albany, GA, three sons, and their wives, Joey Morgan (Susan), Albany, GA, Todd Morgan (Kristi), TyTy, GA, Brian Morgan (Benita) Albany, GA, a sister and her husband, Tommie Woody (Doug), Macon, GA, ten grandchildren, Jonathan Morgan, Atlanta, GA, T.A. Morgan, Brandon Morgan, Presley Morgan, Tara Morgan, Kyler Morgan, Sierra Justice and Chandler Davis all of Albany, GA, Victoria Goodman (Kyle) and Hannah Abad all of Ty Ty, GA and a great-grandchild, Madison Goodman, TyTy, GA.
