Leona V. Bartlett
Leona Violet Bartlett, 84, a resident of 201 Robin Hood Lane, Elkins, and a patient in Talbott Personal Care Home in Belington, was called home to glory on Thursday morning, July 11, 2002, in the home.
She was born May 27, 1918, at Pincher Creek, Alberta, Canada.
On Feb. 17, 1961, in Dallas, Texas, she was married to Clifford F. Bartlett, who survives in Elkins.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by three sisters.
Mrs. Bartlett was raised in Nanaimo, Canada, and attended the Prairie Bible Institute. For nearly 20 years, she worked as a missionary for the Worldwide Evangelical Crusade in Spanish Guinea.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Marvin L. Parli officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Hospice, 1410 Crim Ave., Belington, W.Va. 26250.
