Mrs. Robert (Kathryn) Oyler, 82, longtime resident of the Manhattan area, died Wednesday at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital.

She was born April 16, 1866, at Starfield, Mo., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gordon. She came to Gallatin Valley as a child with her parents and attended schools in Manhattan.

On July 18, 1906, she married Robert Oyler at Bozeman. After their marriage, the Oylers lived in Manhattan until 1954 when they moved to Townsend where they lived until 1963. They then returned to Manhattan.

For 46 years, until Oyler's retirement in 1950, the family farmed on a homestead north of Manhattan.

Mrs. Oyler was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Rebekahs in Townsend.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Agnes) Snell and a son, Everett Oyler of Manhattan; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Edens of Hamilton; nine grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Five sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Dahl and Vial Chapel. Arrangements have not been completed.
