A native of Hatteras, N.C., he lived on Ocracoke Island 35 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War I. Besides his widow, he is survived by a brother, John Q. Tolson of Hampton.
The body was taken from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to his home on Ocracoke Island where a funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the family cemetery on Ocracoke Island.
