Eva P. Mahoney, 86, Hulett, Wyoming died May 7, 2003, at her residence in Hulett.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10, 2003 at the Hulett Civic Center with Elders Pat and Beth Reilly officiating. Burial followed at Alva Cemetery, Alva, Wyoming.
Eva Mahoney was born September 9, 1916 to Frank and Eva (Giedd) Pehringer at Jonesville, SD. Later in life she and her family moved near Alva. There she met Lowell Mahoney and they were married at Belle Fourche, SD, February 6, 1939. She and her husband lived on their ranch near Alva until Lowell's death in 1976. She remained on the ranch with her son and family until 1999. Then she lived with her daughter Judy and her family until her death.
Eva worked hard on their ranch and enjoyed the many hours she spent with the animals. She spent many hours gardening and canning and was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed cooking for people. She liked to help people less fortunate than she was. She collected pennies for the Church to help children go to youth camp. She would bring her baking powder can full of pennies to the Church.
Survivors include her son Tommy Mahoney and his wife Delores and their children, Steve Mahoney, Justin Mahoney, and Amanda Mahoney; daughter Judy Cummings and her husband Bob and her children, Pam Remley and husband Shawn, Kim Avery and her husband Damon, Sondra Thomas, Greg Thomas, and Shellie Tubbs and husband Derick, daughter Patricia Rathbun and her children, Ron Rathbun and Stephannie Garnica and her husband Karlo and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lowell, four brothers, and one sister.
