Reatie Estella "Stella" Baker, daughter of Henry and Eva Lenora Jumper was born in Mitchell County, Kansas, February 10, 1895 and died March 9, 1983 in Harper, Kansas at the age of 88 years and 29 days. Stella was one of ten children.

On October 4, 1909 Stella married Ed Baker at Cherokee, Oklahoma. They lived all of their married life in Hazelton, Kansas. She spent the past 3 years in the Harper Community Care Home.

Stella is survived by 2 daughters, Pauline Fleming of Hardin, Texas and Ruby Shumaker of Attica, Kansas, 19 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Baker were held at the Community Baptist Church in Hazelton, Kansas, Saturday, March 12, 1983 at 2:00 p.m. and burial was at the Rose Hill Cemetery at Hazelton, Kansas, under the direction of the Fisher Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas.
