Mr. Bowman was born Feb, 22, 1895, in Maryland, and came to Iowa with his parents when a child June 6, 1924, he was married to Magdalene Saftner, Swea City, in St. John's Rectory, Bancoft. Mrs. Bowman died in 1949. There were no children.
Mr, Bowman owned and operated a barbershop here for many years, and at one time farmed soutwest of here.
He served in the army during World War I. He was a member of the Legion post here, which awarded him the 35-year continuous membership pin last year. He is a past commander of the local post and also past county commander.
Survivors include one sister and five brothers. They are: Emma Bowman, Austin, Milton, and Charles, all of Fort Dodge; William, Rockwell City, and Howard who lives in California.
Curtis and Barnes are in charge of funeral arrangements, Thursday at 1:30 with the burial in Harrison twp. cemetery, Swea City, and graveside rites will be by the American Legion.
