Clarence was a small child when he contracted polio leaving him severely crippled. He was taken, returned from school by his step-mother. He progressed in school but did not graduate from high school. He became a gunsmith and worked from his residence. He married June Flesher, had a son and daughter, they later divorced and Clarence moved home with his Father, John Bowers, until he passed away from a from a heart condition his body was willed to medical school for research.
