She is survived by three children, Deborah Lavender (Dan), Michael Hanes and Kathy Hanes; four grandchildren, Chris Lavender, Matt Lavender (Ashley), Danielle Beverley, and Sean Beverley (Sarah); one great-grandchild, Chloe Elizabeth Lavender; sister-in-law, Lucy Hanes; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Jahnke Road Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World. She worked several years at the Virginia State Police and was a longtime volunteer at the McGuire Veterans Administration Hospital and Senior Friends-Chippenham Medical Center. For the past five years, she resided at Heritage Oaks Retirement Center, where she had many cherished friends.
