Henry Pudwill, Sr., passed away Thursday, October 17, (1946) at the home of his daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. William Buckenberger living in Rupert, Idaho. Mr. Pudwill had been ill nearly a year and the past eleven months was bedfast. To comfort him in his affliction members of the Assembly of God church, a local affiliation, made him weekly visits, prayed with him and sang hymns, which he greatly enjoyed and appreciated.
Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church with which Mr. Pudwill had affiliated. Internment was made in Fairview cemetery beside his wife who had preceded him 10 years ago.
Mr. Pudwill was born in South Russia September 28, 1862. He came to America in 1889 and settled on a farm southwest of Herreid South Dakota, later moving a few miles Northeast of Herreid where he farmed and reared his family until 1916, he then moved to town and lived here until 1935 when his wife became ill and died. Since then he has made his home with his daughter Mr. and Mrs. William Buckenberger of Rupert, Idaho.
He is survivied by 3 daughters and 4 sons; Henry of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, John of McIntosh, South Dakota, Mrs. Jake Miller (Lizzie) of Hidden Lake, Idaho. Paul of McIntosh, South Dakota. Mrs. William Buckenberger (Helen) Rupert, Idaho, Eddie of McIntosh, South Dakota. and Mrs. M.D. Andrews (Rose) of Los Angels, CA; 46 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren. One brother John (Pudwill) lives in (Irvine, Alberta) Canada and one sister (Dorothea Fuhrmann) in Lodi, California.


Our Brother Henry Pudwill was born 28 September 1862 in Neu Danzig, Russia. In 1884 he was baptized by pastor Metzger and in 1887 he married Roseine Edinger. On 21 Dec. 1935 his wife died in Herreid, South Dakota. In 1888, he immigrated to Campbell county, South Dakota living at home until the death of his Mother. He and his children moved to McIntosh, South Dakota, California, and Idaho. He lived with his daughter Mrs. William Buckenberger in Rupert, Idaho until 17 Oct 1946 when he died at age 84 years and 16 days. He is survived by 3 daughters and 4 sons. Mrs. Rose Andrews of Los Angeles, CA. Mrs Helen Buckenberger, Rupert, Idaho, Henry of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, and John, Paul, and Edward of McIntosh, South Dakota 46 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren. One brother John (Pudwill) lives in (Irvine, Alberta) Canada and one sister (Dorothea Fuhrmann)in Lodi, California.
