Kaitlin Charmayne Copelin, 16, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth following a short illness.

Born in Abilene, Texas on December 20, 1994, Kaitlin was the daughter of Adrienne Beth (Moore) and Robert L. Copelin, Jr. She was a sophomore at Abilene Cooper High School and a member of the Cooper Concert Choir, National Honor Society, and the Cooper Cougar Gymnastics Team. Kaitlin was also a member of the Jammin' Jumper's Jump Rope Team, and Beltway Park Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Iris Moore, and paternal grandparents, Robert and Evelyn Copelin.

Kaitlin is survived by her parents, Bobby and Beth Copelin of Abilene; maternal grandfather, George Moore of Amarillo; two uncles, Byrel Moore of Amarillo and Johnny Copelin of Lincoln, Nebraska; an aunt, Becky Chapman and husband David of Hamilton, Texas; and a great-aunt and uncle, Joe and Kathy Campbell of Dallas; as well as various other aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 23, at Beltway Park Baptist Church with Rev. David McQueen officiating. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, in Elmwood Memorial Park directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
