She was born on July 6, 1937, in Hamilton, Ill., the daughter of Richard and Goldie Keller Taylor.
She was united in marriage to Jack Brisby on June 17, 1956, in Hamilton, Ill. He survives.
Additional survivors include: a son, Craig Alan Brisby and his wife, Bonnie, of Montrose; a daughter, Lori Ann Runge and her husband, Chris, of Garland, Texas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Madeline Rickert of Montrose, Luella Bailey and her husband, J.G, of Hamilton and Sharon Taylor of Hamilton; and a brother, Raymond Taylor and his wife, Doris, of Hamilton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert "Pete" Taylor and Marvin Taylor; and two sisters, Marge Showers and Dorothy Guymon.

Shirley graduated from Hamilton High School with the Class of 1956.
She had been employed as a cook at Central Lee Community Schools, Donnellson, for 18 years. She retired in 1996.
She was a member of the Montrose Presbyterian Church and sang in the St. Barnabas Choir in Montrose.
Shirley enjoyed working crossword puzzles and having coffee and visiting with the ladies.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Vigen Memorial Home, Keokuk, with Dr. Jim Eads officiating.
Burial will be in the Montrose Cemetery.
