Margie Eslee Parris, 90, of Cohutta, Ga., died on Monday, Aug. 2, 2010 at the home of her sister, Wanda Tibbs in Cohutta.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Jackson Whaley and Minnie Mariah Lemmons Whaley; brother, Loy P. Whaley; and sisters, Mazie Woody, Emma Blanchard, Edna Dixon and Agnes Wampler.

She was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Cleveland.

She is survived by sisters, Ruth Foster of North Port Ala., Ilena Davis, Mildred Fauscette and Wanda Tibbs, all of Cohutta; brothers, James O. Whaley and Leo J. Whaley, both of Cohutta; special friends, Marilyn Maples and Lewis Headrick, both of Cohutta; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to honor the life of Margie Parris will be held Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Elder John E. Robbins officiating. Interment will be in Moore's Chapel Cemetery in Cleveland. Serving as pallbearers will be Bradley Howard, Dylan Davis, Matthew Farmer, Dale Farmer, Dwight Blanchard, James Blanchard and Terry Blanchard.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 4 from noon until the service hour at 2 p.m.

Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Pleasant Grove Chapel, Dalton is in charge of funeral arrangements.
