OBITUARY of Willie Jo Deskins

BLUFF CITY – Willie Jo Deskins, 80, formerly of 225 Spring Court, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at Sunbridge Nursing Home, Kingsport, following an extended illness.

A native of Washington County, Va., she was the daughter of the late George W. and Mary Elizabeth Boling Black. Willie Jo was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She never knew a stranger and she was always there to take care of everyone. She had many dear to her heart and one special brother, Bob Black, who was always there for her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Deskins.

Survivors include four daughters, Levonne Sullivan, Blountville, Virginia White, Kingsport and Kathy Davidson and Brenda Harvell, both of Bristol; three sons, Gary Deskins, Bristol and Dave Deskins and Danny Deskins, both of Bluff City; two brothers, Bob Black and Rhondal Black, both of Bluff City; three sisters, Thelma Carrier and Lucille Bowers, both of Bristol, and Nell Beasley of Texas;
13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A special thanks to Sunbridge Nursing Home and everyone on the 200 Wing.

The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City, with Rev. Tom Hicks officiating. The
graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at Sunrise Cemetery, Bluff City. Active pallbearers will be James Parks, Jason Deskins, James Deskins, Chris Oaks, Paul Oaks and Roger Hash. Those who plan to attend the
graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery Thursday at 10:50 a.m. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service in the
chapel, or other times at the residence.
