Mary L. Sams Buchanan, age 73, 364 Buchanan Drive, Bluff City, Tennessee died Saturday November 6, 2004 in John M. Reed Nursing Home. She was a native of Bristol, daughter of the late George Landon Sams and Louise Fee Sams. She was a retired employee of Raytheon, a former member of Bluff City Baptist Church and Holston Baptist Church. She was active in both Cub and Brownie Scouts and enjoyed preparing and delivering meals to needy residents of the community and Nursing Homes.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julia Buchanan Keen; her sisters: Virginia Sams Gregory, and Mildred Sams Tackett and her brothers: George L. Sams, Jr., and Charles Sams.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Albert A. Buchanan

Daughter: Janet R. Buchanan Tallman and her husband John, Bluff City, TN

Son: Dr. Charles M. Buchanan and wife Norma, Bluff City, TN; Brothers: Clark D. Sams and wife Vickie, Herman K. Sams and wife, Judy all of Bluff City, TN. and Steve Sams and wife, Brenda, Raleigh, N.C.

Grandchildren: Andrew T. Keen, Bonnie Rose Buchanan and Laura Buchanan

Great Grandson, Benjamin Kenneth Henley

Step-grandchildren: Erin Sawyers and Ryan Lafferty.

Funeral services will be conducted 8 P.M. Tuesday in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Emmett Wilson and Rev. Edward Scarbrough officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 11 A.M. Wednesday in Sunrise Cemetery. Pallbearers; Scott Sams, John Sams, Kelly Aldridge, Jim Wilhoit, Jimmy Holly, Dennis Holly, Randy Buchanan, Ryan Lafferty.
