Judy L. Winings, 62, of Mattoon, passed from this life at 12:17 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2007, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Funeral services in tribute to her life will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday December 21st, at the Schilling Funeral Home with the Reverend Lou Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Judy was born December 12, 1945, in Mattoon, a daughter of John and Juanita (Sexson) Winings. Survivors include her two sons, James Heaton and wife Tina of Mattoon and Joe Heaton and wife Rachel of Neoga; three brothers, Robert Winings and wife Grace of Sun City Center, Florida, Don Winings of Mattoon, and Larry Winings and wife Tina of Charleston; two sisters, Mary Casey and husband Bill of Bremerton, Washington and Shirley Price of Sarasota, Florida; a stepbrother, Jim Pruitt and wife Karen of Mattoon; a stepsister, Joann Johnson of Mattoon; and four grandchildren, Mitch Heaton of Cool Ridge, West Virginia, Sidney Thompson of Neoga, Ainsley Heaton of Neoga, and Christopher Heaton of Mattoon. She was preceded in death by her father, John Winings; and her mother and stepfather, Juanita and Goble Pruitt. Ms. Winings was employed with Wal-Mart for the past 23 years as the shoe department manager. Judy was a member of Mattoon Christian Church. Memorial gifts in her honor are suggested to American Cancer Society or Children's Miracle Network.
