Mrs. Aldridge was born in Moultrie county, a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Ben Ely, and came with her parents to Mattoon when she was a small girl. She was married to J.C. Aldridge, a Big Four railroad hostler, who died six years ago. In 1942, she left Matttoon to make her home in Indianapolis.
Surviving besides her son and her two brothers are a sister, Mrs. Loren Scott of Indianapolis; a grandson, Jack Aldridge of Indianapolis, and two granddaughters, Marilyn Aldridge and Mrs. Marguerite Hendrichs, also of that city.
