NAMPA — Services for Carl Clayton Dice, 78, Route 6, Nampa, who died Wednesday at a Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Nampa Zion Lutheran Church by the Rev. E. Paul Riedel. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

He was born Nov. 14, 1900, at Stroub, Russia, and came to the United States as a child. He was reared and educated at Parker, S.D. He married Lucile M. Hinrichs Nov. 28, 1924, at Parker. He farmed and was in the trucking and automotive business in South Dakota. They moved to Scott, City, Kan., in 1940, and he continued farming and was also a mechanic. They moved to Nampa in 1958, where he was a carpenter and worked with his son in the masonry business. In 1966 they moved to Bend, Ore., where he worked in a sawmill. They moved to Washington in 1968 and returned to Nampa in 1970. He was a member of the Nampa Zion Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Carl D., Darrell D. and Dennis C., all of Nampa; 11 daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Renee) Good and Mrs. Boyd (Arlene) Cookson, both of Caldwell, Mrs. Larry (Rita) Esson of Grandview, Mrs. Verene Kelly and Mrs. Robert (Delores) Harkness, both of Scott City, Kan., Mrs. George (Dorothy) Bender of Elizabeth, Colo., Mrs. Donald (Jean) Brandenburger of Denver, Mrs. Leonard (Marilyn) Barber of Deming, N.M., Mrs. Jerry (Belva) Burgin of Truckee, Calif., and Mrs. Doug (Kathy) Coats and Mrs. Jack (Bonnie) Cravens, both of Bend, Ore.; a brother, August of Miles City, Mont.; two sisters, Mrs. Claude (Louise) Bovee of Parker, S.D., and Mrs. Hank (Alice) Ankers of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 45 grandchildren., 31 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Memorials may be made to the Nampa Zion Lutheran Church's Luther Hall.
