Funeral is Wednesday for Katherine Johanna Claver, 78, of Akron.
She died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1992, at Rose Arbor Manor in Sterling.
Rev. Robert Herrboldt is officiating for the 10 a.m. service at Peace Lutheran Church in Akron, to which Mrs. Claver belonged. Burial is at Akron Cemetery.
Mrs. Claver was born June 6, 1913, in Cortland, Neb., to Manns and Mary (Huls) Ewers. She grew up and attended school there. In 1917 she moved with her parents to a farm south of Haxtun.
On Sept. 29, 1931, she married Brune Aden at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sterling.
They lived in the Haxtun, Sterling and Yuma communities before moving to a farm near Akron in 1945. The Adens farmed north and south of town before moving to town in 1955. Aden died Jan. 15, 1977.
Mrs. Aden worked for a number of years for Vanard Cleaners and continued to work there when it was purchased by Mr. Hawkinson. She also operated the East Side Café and the Tip Top Café in Akron.
She also did house cleaning, painting and worked in the kitchen of Washington County Public Hospital for 13 years before retiring in March 1978.
On June 28, 1980, she married Fay D. Claver at Akron Senior and Community Center because the Peace Lutheran Church building was not yet complete. He died March 8, 1986.
Mrs. Claver was a member of Happy Hustlers Club since 1951 and was a member of Dorcas Friendship Circle.
Interests included crafts, cooking, and making bread and pies for her neighbors.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Ewers of Kimball, Neb.; a son, Delbert Aden and wife Nioma of Sterling; two daughters, Doris Johnson and husband Harold, and Clarice Spear and husband Pete, all of Akron; two stepsons, Jack Claver and wife Phyllis of Greeley, and Gene Claver and wife Alfretta of Bayard, Neb.; a stepdaughter Sharon Marquardt of Merino; a brother, Rankin Ewers and wife Betty of Fairchild, Wisc.; a sister, Laura Eich and husband Joe of Kimball; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren, and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Contributions to the organ fund at Peace Lutheran Church of Akron.
