Mary Beatrice Cooper Clarke, 83, of Powhatan County, entered into eternal rest and joined her husband of 61 years, Robert "Bobby" Clarke, on Tuesday, February 9, 2010. She was preceded in death by her son, Byron; her parents, Deacon Cornelius and Martha Taylor Cooper; and seven siblings.

She is survived by two sons, Theophilus and Robert Clarke Jr.; two daughters, DeLanda and Voncile Clarke; two loving grandchildren, Sherlonda and Robert Clarke III,; devoted daughter-in-law, Emily Anderson Clarke; two brothers, Rev. Dr. Howard C. Cooper and Cornelius Cooper Jr.; two sisters, Mable C. Cooper and Marion C. Branch; three brothers-in-law, Walter, Beverly and Arthur Clarke; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends; two devoted lifelong friends, Mrs. Juanita Smith Harrison and Mrs. Annie Coleman.

Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where the family will receive friends Saturday, February 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 14, 2010, 2 p.m., at Guildfield Baptist Church in Powhatan, Rev. Walter Roy, pastor. Eulogy by Rev. Warren Lewis, pastor, of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Interment church cemetery.
