GROOM - Funeral services for James Henry Wetsel, 78, were at 2 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Groom Church of Christ with Kenneth Watson, minister, and Chris Hatchett, minister of the North Richland Hills Church of Christ, Fort Worth, officiating.

Burial was in the Alanreed Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc.

Mr. Wetsel died Sunday, Dec. 3, 1995 in Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo. A native of Goree, he lived in Borger and Stinnett for 30 years; Clarendon, 2 years; Lubbock for 10 years; and moved to Groom in 1994.

He was a welder in shipyards for three years in Kirkland, Wash., and worked 30 years as a welder and construction foreman for J.M. Huber in Borger before he retired.

He married Agnes J. Terbush on Dec. 16, 1936 in McLean.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Gary Wetsel Jan. 29, 1990; three sisters, Nina Otley, Beatrice Reimer, and Nettie Margaret Douglas.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carolyn Jean McWilliams of Howardwick; a son, Eldon Richard Wetsel of Midland; 7 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
