Glen Paul Calhoun

June 12, 1934 - January 10, 2008



Glen Paul Calhoun, 73, of Cleveland, went home to be with Jesus late Thursday evening January 10, 2008 at Erlanger Medical Center after heart complications with family by his side to bid him farewell into his eternal home.



Glen was a well known used car dealer in Cleveland until he retired in 1996. He was an avid fisherman, loved the world of buying, selling and trading, going out to eat and talking with his friends and family over a fresh cup of coffee.



He was the son of the late Henry and Annie Calhoun and was also preceded in death by his seven siblings, Edith Sadaler, Pascal Calhoun, Edna Baker, David Calhoun, Bill Calhoun, Charlie Calhoun, Ruth Conley and a niece, Peggy Hawkins and a nephew, Dewayne "Shotgun" Conley.



He is survived by his four sons: Ivan Calhoun of Jesup, Georgia, Alvin Calhoun and wife, Kim Calhoun and Terry Calhoun of Cleveland, and Donnie White of Old Fort, TN; ex-wife, Bettye Calhoun of Cleveland; ex-daughter-in-law, Kelly Calhoun of Cleveland; three grandsons: Jeremy Calhoun of Tampa, Florida, Chandlar Rogers and Taylor Calhoun both of Cleveland; two granddaughters: Ashtyn Clayton of Columbia, South Carolina and Taylor Garrett of Cleveland, TN; one great-granddaughter, Destiny Clayton of Dunlap, TN; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Randall Headrick and J.D. Chapman officiating. Interment will follow Moore's Chapel Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Pallbearers will be Jeff Bynum, Jamie Hyde, Gabe West, Josh West, Rick Jones, Dan Rawls, Joey Bramlett and Bobby Hilliard.
