In the following obituary and on his marker, they have his birth year as 1899, that is incorrect. He was born in 1894.

Obituary from Richmond County Journal, Monday December 6, 1954

Reuben B. Bradshaw, 55, died at his home in East Rockingham at 10:45 the night of December 4th from a heart attack suffered just a few minutes earlier. He had been at work in Safie mill as usual the day before.

Funeral plans are not made as yet, awaiting word as to when his son, "Buddy" can get home from Germany. Burial will probably be in Memorial Park between Rockingham and Hamlet.

Reuben Bradshaw was born September 16, 1894, in Kingstree, S.C. son of Sam and Adelaide Johnson Bradshaw. He and Mary Powell were married in 1917, she also from Kingstree, and they moved to the Rockingham community thirty years ago.

Surviving Mr. Bradshaw now is a brother in Manning, S.C., his wife and six children. These children are Mrs. Dewey (Mulvenia) Pence with two children, Mrs. Allen (Ruby) Turner and four daughters of Florida, Mrs. Sam (Beatrice) Spencer and two children of Hickory, Timothy Eugene Bradshaw, better known as "Buddy" who with his wife, Betty and child are on duty in Germany, and Mrs. "Buster" (Hazel) Gaston and three children of East Rockingham, and Curtis Bradshaw in the Army and now stationed at Ft. Belvoir in Virginia.
