She was the wife of Thomas Williams, a Revolutionary War soldier. She was probably the Helen who was Hilletje Mulder-Muller. From another source I learned that she was "given" by Columbia County authorities a young orphan girl who would have to stay with her as a virtual slave until she was 21 years old. In return for housework, the young girl would get room and board and be taught how to read and write in English by Helen (who was of Dutch background). I also believe the girl would get a Bible when her term of service was up.
