C. M. Salmons dies; retired car Sales Manager - Charles M. "Red" Salmons, 80, formerly of East St. Louis and Belleville, died Monday (Sept. 4, 1978) at Mill Haven Care Center, Millstadt. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Kassly Colonial Mortuary, Fairview Heights, where friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday. American Legion guard of honor will be posted at 9 p.m. Wednesday. His wife, Loretta, died Aug. 9, 1973. A son, Charles E. Salmons was killed in Germany in World War II. He was a retired sales manager for Hauss Chevrolet Co., East St. Louis; a World War I veteran; a member of American Legion Post 53, 40 et 8; the Last Man's Club; and McManus Barracks 10 World War I Veterans.
