From Daily Northwestern (oshkosh) June 5 1929: "REMAINS BROUGHT HERE Body of Samuel Whitfield Hallock Who Died in New Mexico is Interred at Riverside. The remains of Samuel Whitfield Hallock, a former resident of Oshkosh were brought to this city Tuesday from New Mexico. A committal service was held in the family lot at Riverside cemetery this morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. A. A. Bennett officiated. Mr. Hallock died Feb 7, this year at Las Vegas, N.M.. Funeral services were held then at that place. The deceased was born in the state of New York in 1852. He came to Wisconsin with his parents at the age of 3 years. While in Oshkosh, he was engaged in the grocery business in the firm known as Blissett & Hallock. The store was in the building now occupied by the First Metholdist church at the corner of Main and Merritt streets. Mr. Hallock is survived by on daughter. Mrs. F. H. Crail, who accompanied the remains to this city from Las Vegas."
