Mr. James "Dirty" Bradick Allen Sr., age 84, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at his residence.
Mr. Allen was born October 31, 1919, in New Hanover County, the son of the late Robert and Mary Allen. He was preceded in death by a son John "Bobby" Robert Allen.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eleanor Lucile Allen, his three daughters Judy Lewis, Ruth Neal and Dianne Hale; a son James "Jimmy" Bradick Allen Jr.; two sons-in-law, Leslie Neal and Andy Hale; one daughter-in-law, Peggy Allen; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2004, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel, with Reverend Timothy J. Flint officiating. The interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Leslie William Neal III, Floyd Jay Allen, James Allan Neal and great-grandsons, Nicholas Paul Cameron, Mitchell Glenn Cameron and Robert Bret Hale.
Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny T. Lewis Jr., Gary H. Lewis, Harvey L. Lewis, and James B. Allen III.
