Glenn was born and raised on the family farm west of Rantoul, Kansas. He lived on the farm until 2006, when he moved to Ottawa Retirement Village.
Glenn graduated from Rantoul High School.
Glenn farmed and did some custom work. He worked as janitor and maintenance person at Ruhamah Baptist Church in Rantoul. He also worked as sexton of Ruhamah Cemetery and mowed the grounds at Peoria Cemetery. He also worked at Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Ottawa and several years at Bloomer Well Service.
Glenn was a lifelong member of Ruhamah Baptist Church in Rantoul. He served in many positions, including teaching Sunday School and serving as treasurer for many years. He was a life member of Franklin-Miami County Gideons and enjoyed helping distribute Bibles throughout the two counties.
He is survived by his: Nephew-Glen Courtney of Great Bend, Kansas; Nephew-Raymond Courtney and his wife, Judith, of Sumter, South Carolina; Niece-Linda Browning and her husband, Donald, of Sumter, South Carolina and many Cousins.
He is preceded in death by his: Father-Charles Adams; Mother-Clara Adams; Sister-Edith Adams; Sister-Esther Adams Sister-Edna Fay Adams and Sister-Blanche Courtney.
SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at Ruhamah Baptist Church in Rantoul, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2011. Family will meet with friends at 9:30 a.m. prior to services.
IN STATE: Mr. Adams will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday.
CEMETERY: Ruhamah Cemetery in Rantoul, Kansas.
MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to Ruhamah Baptist Church, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
