FUNERAL SERVICES WERE NOV. 23 FOR MRS. LYMAN
Myrtle Elmira Pryor, daughter of Allison and Elmira Pryor was born March 15, 1899 on a farm south of Dunlap and passed away Monday, November 21, 1977 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs.

She was the youngest of a family of six children. March 29, 1907 she was united in marriage to Newton Gaines Graves at the home of her parents. This union was blessed by five children: Mrs. Edward (Velma) Higgins of Des Moines; Mrs. Ira (Ethel) Rees of Dunlap; Glenn Graves of San Bernardino, California; Eugene, deceased; and Mrs. Charles (Carmon) Adams of Woodbine. Newton Graves passed away July 7, 1945.

November 16, 1947, she was married to Burton Lyman who preceded her in death June 30, 1965. Her entire life was spent in and around Dunlap. She had resided at the Rose Vista Nursing Home for 2 1/2 years.

Myrtle was a member of the Congregational Church in Dunlap and was past noble grand of the Golden Rebekah Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Bert, James, Henry and Harry Pryor, and one sister, Florence.

Survivors besides her children include 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, step-children and their families, other relatives and a host of friends.

Rev. Ross Boyce conducted services from the Congregational Church at Dunlap Wednesday, November 23, 1977 at 2:00 p.m. Music was furnished by Mrs. Charles Carrigan and Mrs. Paul Garvin as vocalists and Mrs. Rodney Crosse as organist.

Pallbearers were grandsons and grandson-in-law, Wells Adams, Charles Rees, Dean Higgins, Gordon Larson, Charles Vandemark and Frank Gage. Interment was made at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Dunlap. Published in The Dunlap Reporter (Dunlap, Iowa) on Thursday, December 1, 1977.
