Military honors were rendered at the graveside service. Visitation was held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to service at Lemley Funeral Home in Oneonta, AL.

CORNELIUS, SR., GERALD RAY passed away on May 11, 2011. Mr. Cornelius was born in Pinson, Alabama. He was 84 years old. Mr. Cornelius is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Sue Cornelius, daughter: Sue Anne Borders (Howard), sons: Timothy Daniel Cornelius and Gerald R. Cornelius, Jr.(Susan). Grandchildren: Clinton Patrick Ellis "Clint" Borders, Candace Borders Mitchell (Clint), Timothy Daniel Cornelius, Jr., Anthony Scott Cornelius, Gerald R. "J" Cornelius, III, Jennifer Cornelius White and Jane Cornelius Ganey. Great grandson James Mathis White. Brother: Wilson C. Cornelius (Maude). Preceding Mr. Cornelius in death is brother: John M. Cornelius, Jr., sister: Martha Cornelius Hamer. Mr. Cornelius served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, was President/Owner of Commercial Dry Wall, Inc., Past President of Pinson Lions Club and a gentleman, farmer and fisherman.
