Eureka -- Mrs. C.W. Wilson received word last week of the death of her brother, Mr. Orda Cunningham, whose home was at Rapid City, South Dakota.

Orda A. Cunningham Dies; Former Cloud Countian Orda A. Cunningham, former Cloud county resident, and well known here, died Saturday, Dec. 4, in Rapid City, S.D., after a long illness. Mr. Cunningham was one of the early residents of our Macyville community, and was a brother of Miss Jessie and Miss Mary Cunningham of Concordia.
Mr. Cunningham was born at Pattensburg, Mo., Nov. 11, 1878, and came to Kansas with his parents, John V. and Ebrilla Frances Cunningham, in 1883. They settled on a farm in the Macyville neighborhood, where Orda grew to manhood.
He was married to Coral Pitman at Sabetha, Kans., in 1905, and to them two sons were born, Gerald and Floyd. Mrs. Cunningham died Aug. 21, 1907, and his son, Floyd died Sept. 20, 1923. Mr. Cunningham later married Beryl Abernathy at Glasco and to them two children were born, Helen and Melvin. They lived on a farm near Macyville until 1916 when they moved to a ranch near Upton, Wyo. They operated a restaurant at Upton for some time, and Mr. Cunningham was sheriff of Upton County, Wyo., for several years. In 1923 they moved to Rapid City, S.D. where he operated a sales pavillion, and later, a restaurant until 1945 when ill health forced him to retire.
He is survived by these children: Gerald, of Albion, Neb.; Mrs. Howard Martley, Phoenix, Ariz.; Melvin, of Rapid City, S.D.; and these brothers and sisters: Ora S., Glasco; Mrs. C.W. Wilson, Glasco; Jessie and Mary of Concordia; Mrs. Albert Templin, Van Nuys, Calif.; Mrs. Mike Lynch, Delphos. Also surviving are four grandchildren, many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Rapid City.
