KILL DEVIL HILLS - Dalvin Milton Ambrose, 67, died Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head. Mr. Ambrose, born in Columbia, was a retired auto body and fender man and a commercial fisherman, and was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.

He was the son of the late John Thomas and Nancy Lee Sawyer Ambrose.

Mr. Sawyer is survived by his wife, Melba M. Ambrose of the residence; a daughter, Lolita Gilkerson and husband Todd of Portsmouth, Va.; a son, Dalvin Shane Ambrose of Kill Devil Hills; two brothers: McCoy Ambrose and Sheb Ambrose, both of Manns Harbor; and two grandchildren: Jessica and Brittney.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of God of Prophecy in Manteo on Sunday, Sept. 22. Twiford's Colony Chapel in Manteo is handling arrangements.
