Josiah and Mary had no children. Josiah was one of the Dorchester people who petitioned in 1771 to be set off to Braintree. He resided on the Newbury Farm about halfway between the Newbury Farm homestead and the Billings homestead on East Squantum Street. His will bequethed his personal estate to his wife and his real estate to his surviving brothers. (Glover Memorial) Her will (proved 18 FEB 1821) bequethed all her property to Mrs. Elisha Hayden of Jay, Maine who was perhaps a niece as one of her children was named Thomas Blackman Hayden.
