J. J.* Parr died at the home of his son A. A. Parr in Erienna Township, at 4:15 o'clock Monday afternoon after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services will be held from the late home at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and burial will be made in Sample cemetery.
Mr. Parr was born in Johnson County, Indiana on November 28th, 1847. In the year 1854 he moved to Iowa with his parents where he resided until 1868. From there he went to Kansas and in 1914 he came to Illinois to make his home with his son. He was married to Mary Sladgle* in Iowa in 1867.
He was the father of 11 children and is survived by five sons**: A. A. of Erienna township; John of Cunningham, Kansas; David of Douglas, Kansas; Santford* of Udall, Kansas; and J. R. also of Erienna township.
