Samuel K Boyer, 76, died at the home of Mrs Augusta Hirseman, at 4 o'clock Monday morning, following a twelve year sickness.
He was born in Mahoning County, Ohio, Sept 17, 1859, the son of Mr and Mrs Abraham Boyer.
He came to Elkhart county when 12 years of age and has lived in this vicinity ever since. He has lived in Wakarusa the past nine years. He was a charter member of the Bethel M B C church.
Surviving are his wife, and the following children: Mrs James Whybrew, Mrs Walter Everest, Mrs Harvey Culp and Orville Boyer, all of Elkhart; eighteen grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs Samuel Troup of South West.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Hirseman home, and 2 o'clock at the M B C church. Rev A B Yoder of Goshen, and Rev O L Flesher, officiating. Burial in Olive cemetery.
