Mr. Boschert was born April 18, 1931, in Mayview, the son of the late Albert John Boschert and wife Nina, nee Moore.

Mr. Boschert graduated from Higginsville High School in 1949. He worked at the family gas station on Highway 40 and on the family farm.

On June 22, 1951, he married his high school sweetheart, Grace Opfer, and they had four children.

Mr. Boschert served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was hired by the Missouri Highway Patrol in 1954 and assigned to Troop C Franklin County.

He and Mrs. Boschert briefly lived in Sullivan and St. Clair before settling in Union in 1958. The couple built a new home in 1973 on a lot that originally had 100 trees and Mr. Boschert spent a considerable amount of time in the yard.

Mr. Boschert served on the Zion United Church of Christ church board and was a member of the local Optimist Club.
After a long and successful career with the Highway Patrol as a sergeant, Mr. Boschert retired in 1988. He then ran a car lot in Union for several years.

He enjoyed traveling with Mrs. Boschert, including trips to Europe. He also enjoyed trips with friends to NASCAR races in the southern United States.

Mr. Boschert was known for being very handy and also spent a great deal of time helping his children with various household projects. Mr. Boschert enjoyed watching his two granddaughters participate in sports.

He became a devoted caregiver to his wife, Grace, as she slipped into dementia in the last decade. Mr. Boschert still enjoyed working on the family farm in Mayview and was there in September 2010.
