Jacob Faubion was a blacksmith and a Minister of the Gospel. His parents were Jacob Faubion and Dianah Rector Faubion. After having lived in Cocke County, Tennessee, his family moved, in 1832, to Clay County, Missouri.

He and his wife, Priscilla Boydston Faubion, had 11 children:
John Wesley Faubion, ca 1806-ca 1854
William Faubion, 1808-1895
Sarah Faubion Thomas,1812-1879
Isaiah Doughtry, 1814-1899
James W., 1816-1851
Dinah Rector Faubion Boydston, 1819-1861
Zilpha Grey Faubion Broadhurst, 1821-1899
Margaret Ann Faubion (1) Broadhurst, (2) Boydston, (see link below)
Jacob Cummings Faubion, 1826-1879
Linewry Jane Faubion Broadhurst, 1828-1904
George Washington K. Faubion, 1830-1885

Jacob farmed land that he bought in Clay County, and was the Pastor of Faubion Chapel, officiating at many of the weddings that took place in that community.

His death was said to have been caused by a kick from a "gentle old mare" he was bridling.

No stone is found in the family burying ground to commemorate his life and death, but he left an impression on those who knew him and a host of descendants to honor him.
