ROGERSVILLE -- Chassie Lee Linkous, age 89, Rogersville, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Wellmont Hawkins County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

She was a member of Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church and a retired inspector from International Card and Label Co.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Porter and Rinda Alvis Linkous; sister, Edna L. Jones; brothers, Charlie Linkous, Parker Linkous, Ross Linkous, Marshall Linkous and Wiley Linkous.

She is survived by a sister, Mary Magdalene Trent, Chilhowee, VA; nieces and nephews, H. Monnie Jones, Ronald Jones, Carolyn Jones, Jean Pace, Bea Linkous, Emory Linkous, Mary E. Helton, Alice Story, Louise Birch, Ada Gagnon, Janice Dalida, Rinda C. Lyons, James Linkous, Ross Linkous, Ellen Argenzio and Margaret Bortell.

Calling hours will be 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2001, at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.

Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2001, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Seals officiating. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2001, at Highland Cemetery.
