Christian and Clara came to America in 1841 and settled in Washington Township, Sandusky County, Ohio.
He rented a 40 acre farm where they lived for 1 year. They then removed to Madison Township, where he purchased 86 acres of rough timber land. He at once began clearing it acre by acre until it was put under the plow and the once wild land was transformed into rich fertile fields.
Good buildings were erected and his home became one of the
finest farms of the neighborhood.
Christian and Clara are laid to rest in the cemetery in Madison Township.
