He married Ellen Isabell Elder June 30, 1886 in the L.D.S. temple in Saint George, Washington County, Utah.

AGED HINCKLEY RESIDENT DIES
Funeral services were held on Easter Sunday, April 6, for Samuel N. Stanworth in the Hinckley Ward chapel with Bishop Verdell Bishop conducting. Mr. Stanworth died at his home in Hinckley on Thursday morning April 3, at the age of eighty-two years of causes incident to old age. Speakers were C.R. Woodbury, Mrs. Grace Warnick and Ben H. Robison, who paid tribute to the memory of Mr. Stanworth and his excellent qualities as a friend and fellow citizen. Musical numbers were given by the trio Ruth Talbot, Betha Love and Erma Cropper, "Prayer Perfect", a duet by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Western "Look to the Comforter" and songs by the choir led by Ladd Cropper "Lead Me Gently Home" and "Abide With Me". The benediction was by Rodney Stanworth of Hurricane, a nephew of Mr. Stanworth. Burial was in the cemetery at Hinckley, directed by L.N. Nickle and Son Mortuary. Mr. Stanworth was born in Duncan's Retreat, Washington County, March 21, 1865. He was married to Ellen Isabelle Elder in the St. George Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints, June 30, 1885. The family home has been made in Hinckley since 1891, where Mr. Stanworth was engaged in farming and dairying. He was one of the early settlers in Hinckley and one of their oldest residents. Mr. Stanworth was an active worker in the LDS church and took a great interest in building up the community. He aided in building the Deseret grist mill, the Yuba dam, the reservoir and the irrigation system. He was a good provider for his family and anxious to have his children educated, and donated liberally to the building of the Academy. He was truly one of the old landmarks of Hinckley. He also was greatly interested in sports and supported them generously. Mr. Stanworth is survived by his widow, and five daughters, Mrs. Mary Woolsey, Ogden; Mrs. Nancy Western, Hinckley; Mrs. Myrtle Peterson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Iva Mitchell, Delta and Mrs. Olive Leany, Lehi. There are 24 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Nancy Hinton, Hurricane, and a brother Manuel N. Stanworth, Cedar City.
