Dr. William G. Jack attended the West Nottingham Academy in Cecil Co., MD, founded in 1744. Three signers of the Declaration of Independence also attended this school. He graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Jack died from complications of a tragic accident when he was struck by a car as he was emerging from the driver's side of his car in front of a patient's house. Although he lived for several years after that accident, he never regained his health.

Dr. Jack saved enough money to send his four children to college, even after all the banks started to fail during the 1930's depression. He was elected President of the Cecil National Bank (acquired by the First National Bank), and was able to save the bank from "going under."

He married Margaret Moore Caldwell on 20 April 1909 (born 5 January 1879 in Philadelphia, PA). She served on the Board of Directors of Cecil National Bank from 1945 to 1965 and died 28 September 1970.

They produced 4 children:
1) Jane Wright Jack, 17 Sept. 1911
2) Sarah Griffith Jack, 9 January 1913
3) Margaret Caldwell Jack, 6 June 1916
4) William Griffith Jack, 23 December 1920
