My grandmother, Edna Sadie (Sheffield) Harrington, was the stepdaughter of Jessie S. Sheffield (b. 1892 Red River Co, TX, d. abt 1924 Little River, McCurtain Co, OK) and Alice/Alie (Lewis) Sheffield (b. 1895 Red River Co, TX, d. abt 1913 McCurtain Co, OK). They were married 28Oct1911 in McCurtain Co, OK. The biological father of Edna was James Madison White.
Edna's mother, Alie, died shortly after Edna was born, and Edna was raised by her grandmother, Mary 'Jenny' Virginia (Morris) Lewis. (See picture with Edna; her 3 daughters: Geneva, Imogene, and Juanita; and Edna's grandmother, Granny Lewis.
