"Dad was born in a log house 2 1/2 miles south of Warsaw, Kosciusko Co., Ind., and died at the Greenville Sanitarium on E. Main St., in Greenville, Ohio, where he had been a patient for well over a year. He had been ill for 2 years from a series of light strokes. He was a mason in his younger years and as the years progressed and the work became harder for him, he changed to painting and decorating which he continued for many years. He was buried in Abbottsville Cemetery, Van Buren Twsp., Darke Co. Ohio as was Mother.

Darius, called "Frank" or "Shorty" most of his life (he stood 4'11"), was the son of David Johnson Finton and Emma Henry. Demores. called "Demmie", was the daughter of William Bennett Delk and Letha Ann Vance. They were married at the farm home of Rev. Leander Pottinger near Claypool, Indiana. Frank was working as a mason with his father and his brother Wilf. Frank lived with his parents until he married Demmie, who was doing housework for a family near Packerton. The marriage officiate, Rev. Pottinger, was a Dunkard minister [Brethern Church].
