With two companions, Lloyd E. Shade, of Milton, Tuesday afternoon, started to skate down the river from that place to Lewisburg. After they had gone a mile, or a mile and a half, Shade and Charles Mumma got into an airhole. The latter succeeded in getting out, but Shade, notwithstanding his efforts and those of his friends, sank. The body was discovered about two hours afterword. The young man was about 20 years of age and was the organist in Christ Lutheran church.
