Bernice Walker Smith, 87, of Glencoe died Feb. 20, 2007, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
She was born Nov. 12, 1919, in Wiseman, the daughter of Alex Hull Walker and Ruth Elizabeth (Morton) Walker.
She married Lowell Dean Smith, Nov. 23, 1940. She was a homemaker, dairy farmer and a lifetime member of the Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by: a daughter, Donita Henry and husband, Dee of Glencoe; a son, Stevie Smith and wife, Sue of Franklin; a brother, Alex Walker; a sister, Corrine Smith; five grandchildren, Joni Henry Gaskins and husband, Jeff of Glencoe, Jill Henry Smolenski and husband, Robert of Springdale, Dena Henry Barnett and husband, Travis of Glencoe, Jody Smith and wife, Beth of Violet Hill, Rachel Smith Beaver and husband, Chad of Harrison; eleven great-grandchildren, Joseph Gaskins, Erin Gaskins, Nicholas Gaskins, Jessica Jones, Ashley Neal, Tyler Smolenski, Cody Barnett, Kaci Barnett, Haley Beaver, Cole Beaver and Katie Smith; and two great-great-grandchildren, Chloe Taylor and Landon Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lowell Dean Smith; brothers, Norman Walker, Thornton Walker, Milam Walker; and her sisters, Euna Burns, Nadine Sellers, Alverda Blevins, Arline Sellers and Justine Caruthers.
Funeral service were held Feb. 22 at the Roller-Crouch Chapel in Melbourne with Bill Barnett officiating.
Interment was at the Violet Hill Cemetery at Violet Hill under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.
