Charles H. Vollmer died at Fort Madison, IA July 1, at 11:45 a.m. He was born in Burlington, Feb. 2, 1873, the sn (sic) of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Vollmer, of 704 South Ninth street. He was foreman of the Burlington route freight house at Fort Madison, a faithful, honored employe (sic). Deceased is survived by four children, his parents, one brother and six sisters, and will be held in kindly remembrance by all who knew him.
The funeral will be held from the home of his parents, 704 South Ninth street, Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Friends are invited to these services.

Charles Volmer, foreman of the Burlington freight house here and a well known man in this city, passed away at the Sacred Heart hospital Tuesday afternoon following a severe attack of appendicitis.
Mr. Volmer, who (#####)ent of Burlington, has been in the employe of the Burlington railroad here for the past several months, during which time he has accumulated a large number of friends and associates who were greatly shocked at the news of his untimely death.
Charles Henry Volmer was born in Burlington, Iowa, February 2, 1873, where he spent the greater part of his life until he moved to this city several months ago. He was 46 years 4 months and 29 days old at the time of his death.
The deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. Volmer of Burlington, Iowa, four children, one brother and six sisters, and a host of friends.
The body was shipped to Burlington Tuesday evening for burial there Thursday afternoon.
